Vacation dating app TourBar

With two bank holidays and a glimpse of summer on the horizon, it’s no surprise that the month of May sees groups of friends fill the long weekends with mini breaks, the grand unveiling of the BBQ and busy social calendars. But for those without a partner whose friends are already booked up with plans, the prospect of the three day weekend looming can seem like a long three days to fill.

Tourbar.com, a website and app that aims to connect solo travellers with a partner to travel with, is striving to match solo travellers looking to discover somewhere new this May by matching them with a partner to join them. As well as being a versatile platform for members to meet a romantic partner, TourBar reveals that 49%%*1 of their female users and 52%% of their male users signed up to the website without romance on their mind, with the hope of finding a new travel buddy for a future trip. In fact, nearly 47,000 TourBar members worldwide are searching for a fellow solo traveller to team up with.

It is expected that British roads will see up to 13 million*2 cars over the three day weekend based on previous year’s experience, meaning the bank holidays are the perfect excuse to jet off and visit a new country with a new travel buddy in tow. TourBar has rounded up some of the best events happening in Europe over the May bank holiday weekends that are perfect to try out with a new companion.

Monaco Grand Prix
Between 21-24 May 2015, Monaco will revel in motoring glory as the world’s F1 spotlight falls on the city with the likes of Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel going full throttle around the track and racing to the chequered flag. The glamour and history linked to the Grand Prix De Monaco all add up to create one of the most talked about events in the world of sport. Impress a new partner with a stroll past the harbour filled with multi-million pound yachts, star spotting on the streets or even trying your luck in the grand casino. In a recent survey, 15%% of TourBar members travelling alone to France named ‘sport’ as the main reason for their travel so petrol heads looking for a fellow sport fan should sign up for free to TourBar and meet someone for an adventure to the south of France.

White Night Festival, St Petersburg
White Nights Festival is a collection of events that coincide with the longest days of the year, all taking place in the heart of beautiful St Petersburg. Starting on 23 May and running until 10 July 2015, the international arts festival will showcase a series of classical ballet, opera and music events and includes performances by Russian dancers, singers, musicians and actors, as well as famous international guest stars. Each evening, either ballet or opera performances are held at the beautiful Mariinsky Theatre and concert hall, creating the perfect setting for culture vultures to soak up some of the world’s leading art talent. Direct flights from London Heathrow ensure TourBar members can be in the heart of St Petersburg in little over five hours.

Brighton Fringe Festival
If TourBar members prefer to meet a partner closer to home all whilst exploring one of Britain’s favourite coastal towns, why not look for a new partner to visit Brighton Fringe Festival? For the entire month of May, visitors can expect to embrace crazy cabaret, tremendous theatre, art installations, interactive performances, puppetry, poetry and live music. Brighton Fringe is one of the largest Fringe festivals in the world, attracting hundreds of individual events and with it, culture-vulture tourists and locals. Female TourBar members can shake off any shyness about meeting their new travel buddy by kicking off the weekend with the Funny Women Weekend Academy, the UK's leading female comedy community, giving women a helping hand to find their funny.
